Daphne Ferreira

Midrand artist Daphne Ferreira is a very warm, interesting and energetic person, and one cannot help but to instantly fall in love with her and her work. When I went to visit her at her house, I was impressed not only by all the art she created, but also at what an avid art collector she is. It is heart warming to see someone supporting South African Artists like that! She immediately made me feel at home with a homemade soup she made from veggies out of her own garden. I signed up as a friend that day.

Daphne mainly works in oils, acrylics, water colour and mixed media. She had art in school and that interest grew and took her on a lifelong journey where she paints what she feels, using her intuition and experimenting with the different processes along the way, as she interprets her emotions. She draws inspiration from a wide range of subjects such as landscapes, figures and abstract images.

Apart from her solo exhibition, Daphne participated in numerous group exhibitions at the Watercolor Society in Norscot Manor and at the Centurion branch. She took part in the annual members’ exhibitions at the Pretoria Art Association and students’ exhibitions with Alain Nortje.

Other exhibitions include Arts on Drift, Bayliss Gallery (The Factory), Rap in Rosebank, Tina Skukan Gallery with Annelise Bowker and The Art Box with Etienne van Zyl in Pretoria.

She continues to learn and grow in her art and has taken classes from Diane Victor, Greg Kerr and many more.
